- The Console app is not affected.
Description
Some views of the app may not respond to scrolling by swipe gesture. As a result, user
- cannot scroll through file lists and
- cannot navigate between the four panels (files, editor, console and figure).
The problem may happen when the file list is not in the home directory and, at the same time, the user
- scrolls through the file list by swipe gesture on a trackpad/mouse,
- or, selects an item from the file list using a trackpad/mouse.
Possible Cause
- We suspect that the issue is due to a bug in Apple's SDK that we have reported in 2021.
- We believe that the bug was not solved completely. Hence, we have filed a report to Apple again in early 2022.
Solution
User should use the following steps to resolve the problem:
If the file list is currently not visible, press the keyboard keys ⌘ ⌥ ← at the same time to reveal the file list.
On the file list,
- navigate back to an upper level folder (first image below),
- or drag to lift a row momentarily (second image below).
After Step 2 above, the user-interface should respond to swipe gesture again.
